Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

You can call, text or send me an email to register your interest. We can then arrange to meet at a convenient time. This enables you to introduce your pet(s) to me and tell me about your requirements as well as the needs, likes or dislikes of your pet. For dog walking services, this is often for a walk as this provides me with a good introduction to their personality. If you are happy to proceed, we can arrange the first date and I will then leave you with my forms to complete so I have a record of essential information such as vet details, any allergies or medical conditions and emergency contact details.

How much notice do you need?

Existing customers can book same day subject to availability. I may be able to accommodate new customers at short notice depending on your needs, please ask and I will do my best to help.

Will you allow my dog(s) off their lead?

I will only allow your dog off lead if you have given me express permission to do so and only when your dog is ready. Long lines will be used where appropriate for safety. Dogs will only be allowed off lead in safe areas away from traffic.

What happens if my dog becomes unwell or hurts him/herself on a walk?

I will make all reasonable attempts to contact you or your nominated alternative contact. I am trained in canine first aid however if I am unable to contact you I reserve the right to take your dog to a vet. Every effort will be made to engage the services of your usual vet however in an emergency situation I will take your dog to the nearest one.

I need to go out, can you still visit?

Yes, you don't need to be in when I arrive, there are different options available. For a number of clients, I hold a copy of their house key which enables me to provide last minute services if for example you are late home from work or have a family emergency. House keys are kept securely and separately from personal details. Alternatively, I can arrange to collect a key in advance from you or we can agree a safe place for you to leave your key.

What rewards are used for training?

Whatever motivates your dog! I use a variety of food or toys to engage your dog. I will talk to you about their favourites as well as any allergies or intolerances.

Do you provide services on a weekend and public holidays?

Yes, subject to availability. Weekends are covered at the same rate as weekdays. Rates are doubled for public holidays.

How do I pay?

Various options are available including Paypal (giving you the option of credit/debit cards), cash, cheque and bank transfer and invoices will be emailed to you a week before they are due.
